The first Iron Fist season didn't rise to the fans' expectations. As a matter of fact, of all Marvel/Netflix collaborations, it was reviewed as the worst. Nonetheless, the second season was greenlight and it will be released sooner than anybody expected.
Danny Rand made an appearance in Luke Cage's second season, further teasing a Heroes for Hire spin-off. And it wasn't just that. Even if he appeared just in one episode, this Iron Fist seemed way better than in his own solo series.
Yesterday, at the San Diego Comic Con, Jeph Loeb announced that Iron Fist's second season will debut on the 7th of September. So it is indeed way sooner than expected. Furthermore, Loeb also revealed that Simone Missick will appear in the second season as Misty Knight. Her character was introduced in the first Luke Cage season.
The biggest reveal was, however, the one of the villain. In this way, Alice Eve said that she will indeed be Typhoid Mary, as rumours said before.
In the comics, the character is usually an enemy of Daredevil, but has also clashed with Spider-Man and Deadpool. More importantly, the character is a mutant.
But we guess that this won't play any role in the series, just like her relationship with Daredevil won't even be mentioned. But, at least, she'll indeed have multiple personalities!
A first teaser for Iron Fist's second season was also released. Lasting 48 seconds, it features just one scene with Danny Rand, saving someone from robbers. Check it out below:

While the teaser is pretty basic, the San Diego Comic Con brought other reveals about the show as well. Steel Serpent will also be featured, scenes from K'un Lun were teased, the Daughters of the Dragon were also teased (with Typhoid Mary wrecking them in a clip), Iron Fist masks, and so on.
Check out this thread in here!
And now a clip with Misty and Colleen where Mary just COMPLETELY WRECKS both of them. And yep she's got a machete. #IronFist #SDCC2018

Update: the official synopsis was also released. And, apparently, Danny Rand must take Daredevil’s place!
“Season 2 furthers the transformation of Danny, a character with a fish out of water coming of age story making his way in a harsh new world, battling to work out who he is. This season, Danny has promised that with Matt Murdock gone, he will step up and protect his city.
