Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Games have released a new look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This is the second Suicide Squad Insider video. The videos offer deeper-dive looks at the long-awaited game, which is finally arriving early next year. This one takes a look at the support squad that will be aiding Task Force X along the way. Check it out.
More than just a trailer, this is a lengthier look at a very specific element of the game. The developers are showing us other DC characters who will be involved. And more importantly, how they will be involved. Famed Batman villain Penguin, for example, is part of the proceedings. He plays the role of an arms dealer here, which is a way to procure weapons throughout the game. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg as this video has a lot to offer.
Here is the synopsis for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a genre-defying third-person action shooter where the ultimate band of misfits must do the impossible to save the world: Kill the Justice League. Play as the Suicide Squad (Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, King Shark), as they set out on an impossible mission to Kill the Justice League. Drop into an expansive and dynamic open-world Metropolis ravaged by Brainiac’s invasion and terrorized by the heroes who once protected it. Experience gameplay that brings together a unique fusion of enhanced traversal, gunplay, and melee combat, combining free-roaming exploration and combat verticality for an unforgettable experience.”
This game has been a very long time coming. It was originally announced during 2020’s DC FanDome event. A 2022 release date was planned but it has since been delayed several times. It has finally secured a February 2024 release date on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Rather importantly, it will feature the late Kevin Conroy’s final performance as Batman.
While there are currently no plans for a new Suicide Squad movie, there are other projects involving the characters in the works. We recently got a trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad anime. There’s also Peacemaker season 2, which is still in the works despite the upcoming DC Universe reboot.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrives on February 2, 2024.
