The DC Comics Flashpoint storyline was adapted into an animated Justice League movie, and the upcoming live-action adaptation will be a standalone movie for The Flash. But, if a recent report suggesting that Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman in Flashpoint is accurate, Ezra Miller's superhero won’t be standing alone.
Shortly after Warner Bros. changed the title of the Scarlet Speedster’s movie to Flashpoint, Mark Hughes of Forbes reported that Gadot was "expected" to appear as the Amazon Warrior Princess. Later, Hughes added that it was "not merely speculation", but he couldn't say more at that point.
More recently, Deadline published a new report in which writer Mike Fleming, Jr. covered the Israeli actress’ negotiations to join Deeper, a supernatural thriller starring Bradley Cooper. Fleming also asserted that Gadot will have a role in Flashpoint:
Gadot is riding high after starring in Wonder Woman. She will reprise the role in the Patty Jenkins-directed sequel and DC spin-offs, including the Justice League films and the spin-off for The Flash.
It would be no surprise to see Diana Prince in Flashpoint, as the character played a significant part in the 2011 story arc created by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. Viewers of The CW's The Flash Season 3 would know that it would be possible to pull off a very loose adaptation of the storyline without having to deal with the Amazons, the Atlanteans, a Thomas Wayne version of Batman, or a Martha Wayne version of The Joker.
We were concerned that Warner Bros. might try to sell something similar in the DCEU. But with multiple reliable sources pointing toward a Wonder Woman appearance, it makes sense that other key characters from the iconic story arc might show up in Flashpoint, making it a worthy adaptation.
