Deadpool is apparently not teaming up with Mickey Mouse after all! No, he’ll join up with the X-Force as originally planned!
We knew that the Disney/Fox deal wouldn’t affect the already completed The New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which 21st Century Fox had already scheduled for a 2018 release. But we weren't so sure about movies that were still in the early stages of development. Fortunately, it appears that some of those projects are still viable.
In the wake of the merger, we learned that Gambit would head into production in March 2018. More recently, Noah Hawley told an interviewer that he was still writing the script for a Doctor Doom solo movie. And, most recently, DiscussingFilm reported that Drew Goddard's X-Force movie is moving forward.
The Cabin in the Woods director signed on in September 2017 to write and direct the X-Force film. The mutant team includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and a number of undisclosed characters. Here’s a tweet from Discussing Film:
EXCLUSIVE: We can confirm that, despite the Disney/Fox deal, currently X-FORCE will still go into production with Drew Goddard still attached to write and direct. pic.twitter.com/mvSVu9PS1V

Of course, this is nothing more than a rumor that the studio, Goddard, Reynolds, or Brolin might debunk at any time, but it is believable. It will take around a year for the Disney/Fox deal to be finalized. Brolin suggested that X-Force would kick off filming sometime during 2018. It’s possible that Disney won't have the authority to call off the project before it moves into production.
Also, Disney CEO Bob Iger made it clear after the merger was announced that the studio intended to continue to make Deadpool sequels. He also teased the creation of "an R-rated Marvel brand". If they can somehow incorporate the existing version of Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it wouldn’t be too difficult to do the same with X-Force. I believe that the Drew Goddard flick would be made before Hawley's Doctor Doom movie.
