While the shooting of Doctor Strange won't end until March 2016, Marvel has already started teasing the fans. If until now quite a few pictures were leaked from the set (in poor resolution, we might add), Entertainment Weekly features on its cover the first official shot of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.
In the interview with EW, the star revealed that he made quite a bit of research for this role. Leaving aside the comics which he read, he also had to take special sessions/classes in order to figure out the correct postures the sorcerer makes when casting spells: "I'm thinking, there's going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I'm still working on that."
And he is right about that - the hardcore fans won't forgive him too soon if he messes up any of the stances.
For the moment, since November, only the principal photography was done. So other than this first image of Doctor Strange we don't know too much about the movie - we don't even know what roles Mads Mikkelsen and Rachel McAdams will have. So check it out below and keep posted for more Marvel related news!
Besides the cover, the magazine also features some other pics (which aren't from the actual movie), as well as concept art - these can be seen below!
Doctor Strange arrives in 2016, on the 4th of November and is directed by Scott Derrickson. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo.
In unspecified roles, Doctor Strange stars Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, as well as Scott Adkins (the infamous Weapon XI/Deadpool thing from X-Men Origins: Wolverine).
