The three mysterious characters in the recently released first trailer for the untitled Deadpool sequel have inspired a flurry of online chatter. Dopinder apparently spilled the beans about the identity of one of them. More recently, Colossus outed the other two, albeit in a more deliberate fashion.
Stefan KapiÄić told Inverse that the figure on the far right in the helicopter shot is Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews. In addition, he confirmed fan speculation that the second character is Shatterstar:
That's not CGI of Terry Crews; that is Terry Crews. You can see it clearly. You can see behind him Shatterstar, a really cool thing for people to geek out.
KapiÄić wouldn't reveal the identity of Crews’ character, nor would he say who’d been cast as Shatterstar. Of course, there’s been plenty of speculation. Apparently, the consensus is that the football player/actor’s character is G. W. Bridge and Lewis Tan (Lewis Tan) is playing the sword-wielding mutant.
Colossus didn’t appear in the Deadpool 2 trailer, but one brief shot of Wade Wilson groping his butt showed up in the Brazilian version.
KapiÄić did tell the interviewer that his character played a crucial role in the R-rated David Leitch flick:
Colossus is one of the most important characters, besides Deadpool and Cable, and you will see why. Colossus is important for this story. People who love Colossus are going to be crazy. All these new characters, so many surprises in this trailer. This is just the beginning.
KapiÄić said that his old-school superhero wants to make Ryan Reynolds' titular anti-hero a better man, but it’s hard to change the Merc with a Mouth, who just keeps doing what he does. And what he does makes Colossus nervous.
