Deadpool 2 Casts Major Villain

The first Deadpool movie was released in February, which is widely regarded as the month where movies go to die. However, the sequel has secured a midsummer release date, so fan expectations are pretty high. Plus, the movie is set to introduce Cable, a fan-favorite hero everyone’s wanted to see since the first X-Men movie was released. Josh Brolin has been signed to take on the role.

We also know that Weasel (T.J. Miller), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) will return, and that Domino (Zazie Beets) will make her big-screen debut. Up until now, we’d had no word on who would bring Domino to life.

As a matter of fact, we still have no idea who Deadpool 2’s villain will be!

However, Deadline has reported that an actor has been cast to play a major villain in the movie. That actor is Jack Kesy (The Strain, Baywatch, the upcoming The Death Wish remake), but the villain’s identity remains unknown. The majority of sources report that Deadpool, Cable, and Domino will face Black Tom Cassidy in Deadpool 2.

In the comics, Black Tom is a mutant who happens to be a cousin of Banshee from X-Men: First Class. Black Tom’s mutation enables him to generate concussive blasts and heat through any wooden medium. So his weapon of choice is a shillelagh, which is a traditional Irish fighting stick. Of course, this will make things extremely interesting, especially since he'll be fighting against Deadpool's katanas.

But, again, we don't know with complete certainty that Kesy will portray Black Tom Cassidy.

Deadpool 2 will be released on the 1st of June 2018.
