Charlize Theron's latest acting feat has surely proven she can pull of badass characters. Yes, I speak of Mad Max: Fury Road.
I for one had no doubt about that, but for those who questioned this particular ability of her, Fury Road must have set things right. Now, Charlize Theron is on superhero movie fans' radar: a recent rumor goes she might be eyed for Captain Marvel.
With no plot yet known, what's the current status of Captain Marvel? They do have Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve locked in to pen the script.
Also, a bunch of names have been shortlisted for the titular heroine, including Katee Sackhoff, Emily Blunt, Katheryn Winnick, Natalie Dormer and Yvonne Strahovski.
Shailene Woodley is also a possible contender for Captain Marvel. But the rumored interest of Charlize Theron in this role is surely a game changer.

The Washington Post quotes US OK!, which claims that, after befriending Angelina Jolie, Theron is looking to also work side by side with Maleficient star.
And a project like Captain Marvel seems like a great opportunity for both Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron to team up and craft Marvel's first female superhero led movie.

Angelina Jolie was rumored to be on Marvel's radar for directing Captain Marvel in early February this year.
While no confirmation has come in the meanwhile, the fact Charlize Theron has landed the stage surely simplifies Jolie's decision.
As the source maintains, "If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new pal".
