Booster Gold Creator wouldn’t Mind Nathan Fillion Playing the Superhero!

Back in August 2015, Castle and Firefly star Nathan Fillion expressed his desire to play DC superhero Booster Gold. The actor claimed that he could take "a pretty good crack" at the character. A month later, a rumor popped up that Arrowverse showrunner Greg Berlanti is planning to produce a movie featuring Booster Gold, along with Blue Beetle.

The next month, Nathan Fillion's Firefly co-star Alan Tudyk commented that he's in for the role of Blue Beetle, if Fillion plays the other superhero. And earlier this year, a LexCorp infographic attached to a fictional interview with Lex Luthor confirmed that Ted Kord, aka Blue Beetle, exists in the DC Extended Universe.

So, if the two superheroes are introduced somewhere down the line in the DC Extended Universe, wouldn't Fillion and Tudyk be cool picks for the roles? Well, as Booster Gold creator Dan Jurgens shared in a recent interview with Comic Book, he wouldn’t mind the Fillion casting!

During the interview, when the Canadian actor's name was brought up for the role of Booster Gold in any future movie, Dan Jurgens seemed to approve the idea. He said:

Wouldn't that be something?

When asked if he would endorse Fillion for the role, he responded in the affirmative, but suggested that he would do the same for a number of other actors, as well. He said that it depends on the story, the age of the superhero in the particular story, and a number of other factors. Here's what he said:

I think that I absolutely would, and I would also have a list of probably ten other guys who I'd certainly give a big thumbs-up to. Some of it depends on what is the story you'd ever want to tell? What age is Booster, where exactly are we in his continuum, and what's the story we want to tell? I'm not saying no!
