Batman In BVS – Older, More Broken & F*cked Up!

Batman V Superman

We've already got a number of new images and some new details on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice from the September issue of Empire Magazine, and now it's time for a whole lot more! Some exciting new details on Ben Affleck's Batman have been revealed along with a new cluster of images. So let's get started!

The director of the movie Zack Snyder has confirmed the age of this version of the Caped Crusader to be '45 or 46'. He also added that Ben Affleck's character has served as "˜Batman for 20 years'. The cast for the role also talked about his character's age. Here's what Ben said (via ComicBookMovie):

"Initially I thought, ‘I’m older, it doesn’t seem like the right sort of fit for me. Then Zack pitched me his concept for this older, more broken, kind of f*cked up Batman. It was something we haven’t seen.

Hit 2 to learn how Superman's arrival brings changes in Batman!

Superman Is A Paradigm Shift For Batman!

Batman and Superman
Superman is a paradigm shift for Batman!

The Caped Crusader has always been depicted to have a willingness to cross the line in order to protect people. And that mentality of Batman is what, according to Ben Affleck, Snyder and his team is tapping into in Batman V Superman when he comes across a potentially deadly individual like Henry Cavill's character. Ben also added:

"We want to assume that Batman has reached this point in his life and career as a superhero, and Superman represents a sort of philosophical change. He is a paradigm shift for Batman: ‘I’ve been fighting criminals all my life, trying to find justice, and now I am confronted with a concept that is transcendent to me.’ In the face of Superman, a man robbing a bank doesn’t matter.

Well, I suppose that's a clear enough answer to the question why Batman has got problems with Man of Steel in the movie!

There's more on Batman from the director and producer of the movie on the following page!

Batman's Loss, Crisis Of Conscience & Heroism!

Ben Affleck as Batman
He is suffering from a crisis of conscience!

We've already been confirmed by the second official trailer of Batman V Superman that the Caped Crusader has lost his sidekick Robin (who's rumored to be played by the director's lad Eli Snyder) at the hands of Jared Leto's The Joker. The trailer also offered us glimpses of the death scene of Bruce Wayne's parents – Thomas and Martha Wayne - so that particular story hasn't been changed.

Charles Roven, the producer of the second DC Cinematic Universe installment, seems to tease those deaths with this statement, "He has lost those near and dear to him, and not necessarily from old age or disease…" And maybe that list of near and dear ones also includes Jim Gordon, since we haven't got any traces of what could define his fate in this new universe.

Meanwhile, Zack Snyder claimed that the Caped Crusader is suffering from "˜a crisis of conscience' in the movie and this is the question running all over his head, "Am I really just a vigilante who stalks the alleys of Gotham?" The director termed Ben Affleck's character as "˜a villain' in Batman V Superman, but also added that this is up to the fans to decide after watching the movie on the basis of their own perception. Here's what Snyder said:

"It’s a point of view thing. That is why Dawn of Justice is the full title. What it does is allow us to start this conversation.

Hit 4 to check out an interesting revelation on Batman and Suicide Squad!

He's Put All Suicide Squad Members In Prison!

The Suicide Squad Joker
He isn’t the only one with whom Batman has got problems!

We've seen Ben Affleck on the set of Suicide Squad and we've also seen glimpses of the Caped Crusader in the first official trailer of the movie. But, it isn't just the history of Batman with The Joker and Harley Quinn that gets confirmed on the pages of the magazine - they also confirm something more exhilarating - perhaps the most up to now!

The entire Suicide Squad
Each of them was hunted down by Batman!

Ben Affleck's Batman is the individual who has hunted down sent to Belle Reve prison Will Smith's Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag, Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang and all the other baddies that Viola Davis' Amanda Waller later uses to create Task Force X, aka Suicide Squad!
