Avengers: Infinity War Trailer Screened at D23!

Avengers: Infinity War trailer screened at D23!

Although it hasn’t turned up online yet, Disney and Marvel screened the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer at their annual D23 Expo. However, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, io9, and Comic Book, we have a description of the trailer’s contents.

According to the outlets, the trailer kicks off as the Guardians of the Galaxy travel through "a creepy section of space" in their spaceship. "We are arriving," says Mantis to the team, which includes a Teenage Groot. Star-Lord tells his teammates to put on their "mean faces", because things could get "dangerous". The body of an unconscious, short-haired Thor (Chris Hemsworth) hits the spaceship’s windshield. Rocket says, "Get it away."

But they bring Thor aboard, and Pom Klementieff's character uses her powers to wake him. Startled, the Norse God of Thunder looks around and asks, "Who the hell are you guys?" They all fly to another planet, where there’s "massive destruction".

The Avengers: Infinity War trailer then heads to Earth, where Scarlet Witch is moving cars around and dodging some white energy that then destroys a truck. A female voice-over says, "Death follows him like a shadow." Then Loki stands amid ruins, and he’s presenting the Tesseract to a mysterious, taller "someone".

In New York, Peter Parker is on the school bus, and suddenly the hair on his arms stands on end, which apparently means that his Spider-Sense has been triggered. Tony Stark is then seen preparing for battle as he says, "We have one advantage. He's coming to us." A ship flies toward a planet and crashes as Iron Man, Mantis, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, and a few others look on in "total shock".

"Fun really isn’t something one considers when balancing the universe. But this puts a smile on my face," says an unseen individual as a terrified Gamora turns around and Star-Lord says, "Oh no."

Thanos emerges from a black hole. A fight begins during which Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) "puts down platforms and Star-Lord jumps off them, firing his guns."

Next, Spider-Man jumps through the air. He’s wearing the new suit seen at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

There’s a shot of Vision behind bars, and then the trailer heads to Wakanda, where the people are preparing to defend their territory. Winter Soldier is among them.

Captain America, who has full beard and longer hair, steps out of the shadows. Black Widow – sporting blond hair – shows up, followed by Iron Man, who has "new, very sleek armor". Someone clad in Hulkbuster armor is seen fighting, but that individual’s identity remains a mystery.

The focus shifts to Peter Parker, who’s lying on the ground and apparently badly injured. "I'm sorry, Tony," he tells Iron Man, who is holding his head.

In the next shot, the Mad Titan grabs and squeezes Thor's head. He uses the Infinity Gauntlet to seize a moon from the sky, and drags it toward the planet and all of the other characters. Debris starts to fly, and the title card pops up.

It’s evident that the Avengers: Infinity War trailer is pretty epic. It remains to be seen when Marvel will release it online, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait beyond San Diego Comic-Con International 2017.
