Major Avengers 4 Plot Point Confirmed in Set Photos?

Avengers 4 set photos have apparently confirmed a major plot point!

Readers, be warned! This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4!!

In Avengers 4, Earth's Mightiest Heroes may turn to time travel in their efforts to head off the devastating consequences of Thanos' deadly finger snap from Avengers: Infinity War.

By the conclusion of Infinity War, the Mad Titan had all of the Infinity Stones in his possession and had fulfilled his mission of obliterating half of the universe’s population. But there’s still hope that our beloved Marvel heroes be able to reverse the effects of that split-second action in the next Avengers installment, which is due in theaters on May 3, 2019.

Leaked Avengers 4 set photos indicate that the superheroes might revisit  the Battle of New York, although it’s uncertain whether they’ll do so via flashbacks or time travel. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently hinted that Tony Stark's B.A.R.F. (Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing) technology from Captain America: Civil War would figure into the scene.

However, the set photos all but confirm that the movie will feature some time travel scenes. In one photo, Robert Downey, Jr. wears S.H.I.E.L.D. tactical gear similar to that worn by the agents who accompany Loki. If Tom Hiddleston’s costume is any indication, this scene will revisit Loki's time in captivity from 2012’s original Avengers movie. Twitter user @Lokieed appears to agree:

I'M LATE, BUT I just realized that this has to be time travel and not a flashback, because there are two Tonys in the same place (see the door behind Loki and Tony)?? ALSO, someone removes the muffle and the shackles from Loki's wrists. I swear, if present-Tony talks to past-Loki…

In another set photo, Loki holds a glowing white cube that appears to be the Tesseract in its pre-CGI form. Hiddleston's stunt double’s presence may be a strong hint that the scene will involve some action.

It’s possible that Tony’s found a way to travel through time into the past, where he asks Loki for his assistance.

Finally, Sunday Express recently reported that because Aaron Taylor-Johnson was spotted on the Avengers 4 set, his Quicksilver character may be resurrected.
