Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a different kind of beast - if for other blockbusters the studios would just make official announcements or go to the length of organizing surprise evens (like it happened in the case of Marvel), Disney decided to reveal the names of the characters we saw in the teaser-trailer in a much cooler way.
And this cooler way is the way of collectible trading card, with screenshots from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer. Check them all out below.
Weird names, you believe?
When the cards were first posted, the consensus seemed to be this: these names are too weird for Star Wars. What Finn? BB-8 - is this a joke? And so on"¦
However, back when the original movies were released, the same thing must have happened - Han, Chewbacca and so on. All these names need in order to become more realistic and more Star Wars-like is a story attached to them.
We may go to the length of analyzing each of them (after all, there are quite a few sites which can do that). But this seems futile and a rather comic way of saying that you know something about Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The only fact is that we now know how the main characters are named.
What else do we know from these cards?
Pretty much nothing else than these names - we shouldn't be too hasty to say which are the positive characters and which are the villains (Poe is known to be an avid collector of all things that are Sith related, as it was revealed by Oscar Isaac). Why would we say that Kylo Ren is a villain?
For a quick recap:
John Boyega is Finn
Oscar Isaac is Poe Dameron
Daisy Ridley is Rey
And we have no clue who portrays Kylo Ren, although he is rumored to be either Adam Driver or Domhnall Gleeson.
