Netflix – Superheroes for Future Shows

Daredevil on Netflix

Netflix - it has proven that even Marvel can get dark and that a superhero series can work as a very long feature film (after all, Daredevil can be seen that way). So what other superheroes could be brought on the small screens in the same manner?

Spider-Woman on Netflix?

This is more than a possibility, since David Tennant (who will portray Kilgrave on Netflix in Jessica Jones) posted a very interesting pic with him and some Marvel superheroes.

And while we don't expect to see the Thing and a Woman Thor too soon on the small screens, the actor did pose directly beside Spider-Woman. Is this a hint that Marvel is already planning to expand a Spider-Man universe?

We don't know. But we are up for a great start!

Moon Knight

Everybody has been dying to see the Moon Knight on the screens, may they be silver or small ones. So why wouldn't Marvel bring their own twisted superhero on Netflix?

Besides his approach to hand-to-hand combat (he'd rather take a punch than avoid it), Moon Knight is also, in some way, a connection to a more mystic side of the Marvel universe. While we don't expect to see this side of the Marvel universe on Netflix in the current format (with the scheduled superheroes leading towards the Defenders), Moon Knight is the best dark superhero the studio can introduce.

Red Hood

The black sheep of the Batman family, the (sort of) Punisher of the DC comics, Red Hood would make an awesome small screen superhero. Picture this as the rise to power of a ruthless villain/antihero. Picture a city in which the criminals actually fear a ruthless crime lord and start obeying his rules.

That does sound good, doesn't it?

And maybe, just maybe, subtle hints should be dropped all over the place about the existence of other superheroes as well.

Nightwing

Nightwing would also work as a Netflix shows, especially if no Batman is involved. So maybe the former Robin's story should be picked as soon as he left his mentor and went to make a name for himself.

Whether the city is Blüdhaven or some other one, it doesn't really matter. What matters is that Nightwing can be paired (so to speak) with Red Hood and have them finally clash in an epic spin-off. And no, we don't want them to become buddies afterwards.

The Question

Question
Question

This needs to happen on Netflix - as Kevin Smith said, what is more frightening than a faceless assailant beating you to a pulp?

Sure enough, The Question also has different skills than being great at hand-to-hand combat. He is also a great detective, having been an investigative journalist. So such a Netflix series could work very well as a mystery one. As in a series about questions"¦

Runaways

This is a team, we know, but we have been waiting for so long for this awesome story to be adapted for the big screens. And they were just about to make it into a movie - when Avengers happened and they met a success nobody expected.

So yes, if the Runaways don't have a place on the silver screen, then by all means - bring them on Netflix!
