Warner Bros. On Henry Cavill’s Superman Exit Reports: No Decisions Made!

Both Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. have responded to the actor's Superman exit reports!

Warner Bros. has responded to the reports about Henry Cavill's departure from the role of Superman. Cavill too has responded, but in a very cryptic way.

Less than 24 hours ago, news broke that Cavill – who brought Superman to life in three different DC Extended Universe installments - is hanging up the red cape. According to multiple reputable Hollywood trades, talks between the British actor and the studio for a cameo in Shazam! broke down due to scheduling conflicts, which eventually led to the closing of door on other potential appearances in the DCEU.

Warner Bros. has officially responded to these reports suggesting that they have not made any decisions recently about Cavill's future as the Last Son of Krypton. In a statement issued to CNN (a new media also owned by Warner Media, like the studio), here's what a studio representative says:

While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.

Of course, the statement doesn't offer any more clarity to the whole situation. But perhaps, it's far less ambiguous than Cavill's response. On Instagram, the 35-year-old actor trolls his fans with a clip, bearing the caption:

Today was exciting #Superman

In the clip, we see Cavill donning a Krypton Lifting Team t-shirt as he slowly elevates and then lowers a Superman action figure, staring silently at the camera. The background music is no less amusing - it's a rendition of Johann Strauss' The Blue Danube waltz, with vocals by barking dogs. Check out the video below!

Neither Henry Cavill's response, nor that of the studio provides much of a hope. However, the tweet from Cavill's agent Dany Garcia does seems to be a little more clear and optimistic. Check it out below!

It's been 19 months since we first heard about Ben Affleck's exit from the role of Batman. An official confirmation on that front is still due. So perhaps, a year and half later, we would still be unsure about Cavill's fate as Superman.
