Thor and Jane Foster currently form one of Marvel's most picturesque couple. Well, how could but picturesque "“ to say the least "“ be a relationship between an Asgardian prince and a physicist who's well ahead of her time?
So, clearly, for Thor and Jane mainstream is off the table. Talk about mixed couples! Bumps at every turn, interplanetary travels, universal evils to hold at bay! All that could put pressure on a relationship.
But the question is now: did their relationship run its course? In the light of the recent developments, as well as due to Natalie Portman's general attitude towards her contractual obligations to Marvel, we tend to say, well, yeah.
Thor and Jane, a thing of the past?

It's well known Natalie Portman was never so keen on reprising her role as Jane Foster in Thor: The Dark World. As to her role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, watch the short clip below, courtesy of Screen Rant, and convince yourself she's really not that invested in Jane's character.
Sure, she's polite and charming and whatnot, but playing Jane Foster seems like a compromise for Natalie Portman.
