More Hints that John Cleese Might Join the DC Extended Universe!

John Cleese might actually be joining the DC Extended Universe!

A few days ago, some eagle-eyed Twitter users noticed that the official accounts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its photographer Clay Enos had started following Monty Python star John Cleese. Many viewed that as an indication that the British actor will join the DC Extended Universe, while others didn't think it was very convincing evidence, at all.

However, thanks to Twitter user Dennis Lamb, we now have even more hints that Cleese might show up in an upcoming DCEU installment. The actor has now started following the official Twitter accounts of two individuals related to the DCEU: Zack Snyder, director of Batman v Superman and the upcoming Justice League, and Ben Affleck, star of The Batman! Similar social media activity took place before Joe Manganiello was officially confirmed as Deathstroke, so it doesn't feel unrealistic to speculate that John Cleese, too, has landed a role in the DCEU. However, at the moment we’re not sure about which character he would portray or in which movie he would appear.

While following Snyder might seem to indicate that Cleese would be appearing in Justice League, it is to be noted that the movie wrapped up production more than a month ago. However, like any other tentpole movie, Justice League will be undergoing re-shoots at some point next year, and the actor might film his parts then. So, it is safe to assume that Cleese wouldn't have much bigger a role than a cameo in the November 17, 2017 release, if he has a role at all.

But since John Cleese is also following Ben Affleck, he might be portraying a character from Batman comics and he might appear in The Batman, which is expected to move into production next summer.

But at the moment, it's all speculation, and we should take it with a grain of salt until an official confirmation arrives.
