Westworld – The First Full Trailer

Westworld

We’ve been waiting for the Westworld TV show for so long! Ever since the news broke that HBO intended to adapt the 1973 Sci-Fi-thriller, we’ve been anxious to know more about it. And then came the news that J. J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, among many others) and Jonathan Nolan (Memento, The Dark Knight, and others) would act as executive producers. And then came the casting announcements - how can one not be excited about this?

Anthony Hopkins is Robert Ford, the creator of Westworld, a futuristic theme park populated by artificial beings. Ed Harris is the main antagonist, the Man in Black, most likely an android who realizes what he is. Evan Rachel Wood is Dolores, an inhabitant of Westworld who discovers that her life is an elaborate lie. Jeffrey Wright is Bernard Lowe, the creator of all of the androids. Thandie Newton is the theme park’s Madame. And the list goes on, with James Marsden, Rodrigo Santoro, Clifton Collins Jr., and so on.

Basically, this can already be called HBO's next hit. So check out the first teaser, as well as the first trailer!

Westworld is based on the 1973 film of the same name, which was written and directed by Michael Crichton, who is best known for writing Jurassic Park. It isn't the first attempt to make a series based on the 1973 movie. Back in 1980, Beyond Westworld aired for three episodes before being cancelled. We guess we can already say that it won't happen the same way this time.

Most interestingly, Westworld is just one of the theme parks populated by artificial beings. So when it all works out, HBO could turn this TV series into an epic one, taking place in multiple locations. Just like Game of Thrones.
