Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II is still a long way from its 2017 release date. But anybody who saw the first movie is surely looking forward to seeing the second part of Marvel's own space opera. The team will be back in its entirety, some new members will be added, iconic actors will appear (Kurt Russell!), and it will feature the MCU’s first female villain as the main antagonist. Why wouldn't the fans want to know more about it?
The most recent rumor says that Thor will make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II. And that is because director James Gunn posted this pic of himself holding Mjolnir on his Facebook page. This can't be just him getting ready to hang a new painting on the wall, can it?
James Gunn has said plenty of times (until now) that no Avengers will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II. And, as soon as the rumor appeared, he said once again that he did not plan a Thor cameo. However, we aren't too quick to call this rumor debunked, since the Guardians will eventually arrive on Earth. And what better hero than Thor could lead them here?
Another old rumor said that Nova will also cameo (in some way) in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II, which would be great (since it is Nova). But it would also be kind of dangerous, since the director already has plenty of characters to juggle. In regard to this issue, James Gunn has said quite a few times that Nova is not one of his favorite comic book characters. However, he also recently said that there is always a chance for a Nova movie.
We guess this is, once again, debunked. There will be no Nova in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II. However, since the Nova corps will be destroyed by Thanos (in his search for the Infinity Stones), we can assume that, sooner or later, all that power will find a vessel"¦But hey!
