In case you’ve forgotten, there are some other Marvel movies coming out this year, outside of the MCU, namely X-Men: Apocalypse. Seeing that the latest installment, directed by Bryan Singer, will be released in little over a month, we’re wondering why the marketing campaign is so mum at this moment.
X-Men: Apocalypse will basically be the end of the second X-Men trilogy since the early 2000s, so maybe a bit more buzz can be built. The trailers thus far have done a pretty good job at teasing the scope and the scale of the movie, while the ads released added to that. However, it appears as if the movie fell in the shadow of its box office contenders.
Now that Civil War is closing in on its release day, maybe Fox will ramp up the X-Men: Apocalypse marketing campaign.
So check out this cool new ad, teasing conspiracies and documentaries, pretty much like Days of Future Past featured:
Entertainment Weekly also announced that Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) will appear in at least two more X-Men movies - and this announcement is accompanied by a cool new still from the movie, most likely from the battle between Cyclops and Storm - as seen, Jean Grey lends a helping hand to the still inexperienced mutant.
Yet another sign that Fox intends to launch a more aggressive marketing campaign is the classification of another X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, which is a little more than two and a half minutes long. At this point, we can only wait for this (most likely) final trailer to be released sometime in the next couple of weeks (maybe after Civil War is released).
We enjoyed X-Men: Days of Future Past, and we are looking forward to seeing the new beginning brought by X-Men: Apocalypse. However, for the movie to exceed expectations (at the box office, of course), Fox needs to do much more than release a pic now and then or a trailer every several months.
