Jessica Jones Gets a Second Season

Perfect

If the numbers released by NBC are correct (there is no reason they should be, just like there is no reason they shouldn't), Jessica Jones was a bigger hit than Daredevil, each of the episodes being watched by an average of 4.8 million people. This made the series the most successful Netflix release of last year. So is there a surprise that Jessica Jones' second season was greenlight? Not at all.

But while the second season will be released, it isn't known just yet when that will happen. As many fans say, the superheroine may be lacking worthy adversaries, or at least enemies which can appear on the small screens. And this isn't entirely true, since one of the hottest rumors says that the superheroine will go against the Maggia crime family.

Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos also offered an update on other much-expected Netflix productions. Thus, he also approached the hot Punisher rumor, saying that any character which appears in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist can have a spin-off series: “All the characters that spin out in that universe could spin out. Any character that’s in there is on the table." (via Comic Book Movie)

We don't know about you, but this surely sounds like a confirmation rather than the opposite. Which is great for all the Punisher fans out there.

Returning to Jessica Jones, it is highly unlikely to see a third season for the series before The Defenders arrive. For that matter, it is doubtful that we will see a third season of Daredevil within that timeframe.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves - we are glad that Jessica Jones has a second season.

The first one was truly amazing, even if the main focus seemed to be on the villain rather than on the superheroine.
