X-Men TV series Hellfire looking for show-runners

TV shows based on comic books took over the small screen quickly, and they keep on coming, one after another. Marvel and Fox are working on two new projects based on the X-Men stories. The first is Legion, a TV show that will tell the story of David Charles Haller, the mutant son of Professor Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller. For Legion, Fargo’s creator Noah Hawley has closed a deal with Fox.

Next in line is Hellfire, inspired by X-Men: First Class, yet different. The TV show will expand on The Hellfire Club introduced in X-Men: First Class, managed by Kevin Bacon's Sebastian Shaw.

Hellfire will rock but Legion will be the Breaking Bad of superhero series

Legion will be more of a psychological thriller

Legion will be more of a psychological thriller

“Set in the late 1960s, the series - which will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling the physical production - follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires - known as "The Hellfire Club" - to take over the world.”

Initially the production team behind the series featured, among Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg, 24 alums Evan Katz and Manny Coto. But recent news confirmed that they must exit the team as Fox is moving on with 24: Legacy and they are part of the production team. Now the series is looking for new show-runners who will work around the existing outline for the show’s story. The show-runners will also pick the writers so we shall hear about it in the following months.

While Simon Kinberg said that Legion will be the Breaking Bad of superhero TV series, Hawley completed his affirmation by describing the main character.

"What I really like about him is, here's a character who is schizophrenic on some level, a character struggling with mental illness. Is he crazy or does he have these powers? The answer is, kind of both. I'm a big believer that the structure of a story should reflect the content of the story. And so I liked the idea that if you have a character that doesn't know what's real and what's not real, that is also the audience's journey."

Are you looking forward to the launching of these Marvel TV series?
