Black Panther will get his own stand-alone movie in February 2018, but we will get to see the historic comic book superhero crossing the path between Chris Evans' Cap and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War. The warrior prince will be portrayed by Chadwick Boseman who described Black Panther as a mysterious character.
Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Falcon who had a brief appearance in Ant-Man will put on his wings in Civil War too. In an interview for CBR Mackie talked about the recently released treailer of Captain America: Civil War and what’s so cool about it.
“You know, the great thing about it is that I feel like what the trailer showed more than anything is Marvel has kind of infused action movies with acting,” Mackie, who will play the role of Sam Wilson aka The Falcon in the third Cap film, revealed to CBR News.
Chadwick Boseman will bring the character of Black Panter to life
Mackie talked about why we love the two protagonists in Captain America so much, and he justified that we can relate to them. Then he expressed the thrill of having his friend Chadwick Boseman cast in the role of Black Panther.
“I’ve known Chad for a long time,” Mackie said. “I was very happy when I heard he got cast as Black Panther, because I knew he’d do the work to bring that character to life. It’s not so much about two black actors being in a movie at the same time. It’s more so about the right black actor getting that role to do the work to make it timeless, and Chadwick is that guy.”
In Civil War, Black Panther will be in the middle of the conflict between Cap and Iron Man, and they both want the prince of Wakanda on their side.
