Three years after The Super Mario Bros. Movie became one of the biggest animated movies of all time, Mario and Luigi are back. Universal Pictures and Illumination have unleashed an even bigger sequel based on Nintendo’s most beloved characters. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is upon us. As the title implies, it opens up the universe in a big way. But does it tee up more for the future?
Mario has been a huge video game franchise for a long time but now it’s a big movie franchise. That means Nintendo and Universal probably want to set the stage for more. As a result, fans are probably curious if this sequel has any post-credits scenes attached. Without going into any spoilers, we’re going to answer that question in simple terms.
Yes, The Super Mario Galaxy movie has not one but two different credits scenes to be aware of. The first one happens pretty quickly and might even be a little jarry. The second one, however, requires a bit more patience as it takes place at the very end of the credits. Again, we’re not spoiling anything but let’s just say that Nintendo fans will want to stick around.
Universal has been hush-hush about the plot details for the sequel. Some information suggested that the sequel had some secret characters in store, but the studio didn’t want any of that spoiled ahead of the release. In short, it’s been clear for a while that this movie is going to be full of surprises.
Here is the synopsis for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Meanwhile, Nintendo is diving even deeper into the cinematic realm. Aside from this, they have a Legend of Zelda movie in production for a 2027 release.
