A Younger Spider-Man In The Aftermath Of Marvel/Sony Deal

Spider-Man back in MCU

Spider-Man is back to MCU: an event celebrated by all Marvel fans who know better. But is he back for good? Let's remember the deal Marvel and Sony stroke comes down to a lease, not to a sale. In so many words, Spider-Man is not out of the woods. Not completely.

Don't fret: things are likely to go smoothly between Marvel and Sony now that they came to an agreement. According to Hollywood Reporter, the studios will likely join forces to facelift the franchise. Standalone movies, as well as crossovers are just around the corner.

What happens to Spider-Man in the "Sony universe"?

No, no Amazing Spider-Man 3 in the near future. Or ever, for that matter. However developed Marc Webb's plans for the sequel, they were canceled. It's not that Sony held the two prequels in so much respect. Not at all. But while they're ready to call off Webb's movie, it seems that, according to Variety, they're also marching on other Spider-Man-related projects.

Thus, Sony is reportedly still considering Sinister Six, Venom, as well as a female-driven Spider-Man spinoff. Will Marvel be summoned to chip in? That remains to be seen.

As to Marvel"¦

Well, Marvel has a pretty good idea about what they're going to do next with Spider-Man. He's bound to make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Think how many extra points the movie will score now that the web slinger is in (reportedly!!!).

But that's not all. Apparently, according to Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is looking for a younger Spider-Man. Which means Andrew Garfield if out. But that should not come as a surprise, given the actor's recent split with the franchise. Does that mean they're trying to lay the grounds for an origin story?

An origin story to be released July 28th, 2017, for that matter? That's when Marvel plans to bring to theaters a standalone Spider-Man movie.

Which brings me to this question: what actor will they cast as Spider-Man? Or better, yet, who do you think they're going to choose for Spider-Man's debut in Captain America and for its solo Marvel-ous re-launch in the 2017 movie? Have your say below!
