Wonder Woman - Does She Have a Sidekick?

Wonder Woman

Back when Michelle MacLaren was still set to direct the first Wonder Woman solo film, it was reported that she intended to give the Amazon Princess a sidekick, in the form of a ferocious tiger. In the comics, the super heroine was known to be able to calm even the deadliest and largest of all predators.

Apparently, that rumor was true, since Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) posted a pretty interesting pic on Instagram, a pic that has since been deleted. It wasn't too much - just a pic with a tiger, and a caption saying that it was the newest cast member present on the set.

After it was taken down, the Wonder Woman actress uploaded it again, but this time with no caption at all:

We know that Wonder Woman will make the best of her warrior skills during the WWI sequences in the movie. However, a good portion of the film will also be spent on Themyscira, the home island of all Amazons. So we could see that particular tiger in the movie.

However, will it act as a sidekick for Diana Prince? Or will it be one of the animals she has adopted? From what we know at the moment, it could be just one of the many inhabitants of the island, present in the Wonder Woman solo flick just to enhance the exotic atmosphere (though it would be pretty weird if that happens, given the fact that a tiger is a pretty territorial and Themyscira is still just a rather small island).

Anyway, this is an interesting reveal, since it hints at the special powers the character may possess. And if that tiger is in no way connected to Wonder Woman herself, it could still be Hippolyta’s housepet…Do all of the Amazons share the same kind of powers in the DCEU?

Wonder Woman will be released on the 2nd of June 2017. We guess we'll find out then.
