Will Infinity War Introduce the Illuminati?

Shooting for Avengers: Infinity War is well underway, and we've seen a number of pics from the set, as well as some interesting, and in some cases revealing, actors’ tidbits. For example, we’ve learned that the Black Order is coming to Wakanda, and that it’s highly likely that some of its members will clash with Black Panther. Also, Mjolnir will be reforged, and there will be an epic scene featuring 30 or more characters.

At the same time, we have some major unknowns in regard to the film, such as how many casualties we’ll see. Kevin Feige has teased major roster changes starting with Infinity War.

As Benedict Cumberbatch said before Doctor Strange came out, the Illuminati are coming. At that time, we assumed he was talking about movies further down the line. But recent pics might be seen as a tease that the Illuminati will arrive much sooner than we think.

Robert Downey, Jr. posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Doctor Strange, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Wong on his Twitter account. Plus, Mark Ruffalo shot scenes with Chadwick Boseman, and we’ve seen three core members of the Illuminati (Strange, Stark, and T'Challa).

Bruce Banner isn’t among them. However, since Marvel doesn't own the rights to Mister Fantastic (and won't get them anytime soon, since Fox is reportedly planning another Fantastic Four reboot), Banner might replace Reed Richards.

Kevin Feige already said that some characters from the TV shows might make the jump to the big screen. He specifically mentioned Black Bolt, who will debut in The Inhumans on September 1, 2017.

Right now, Marvel needs Professor X (or an equally powerful telepath) and Namor (Marvel owns the rights to the character).

In the comics, the Illuminati formed at the initiative of Black Panther after the Kree-Skull war. But Thanos' arrival could be a stepping stone for bringing this new team into the MCU.

What do you think? Will Avengers: Infinity War introduce The Illuminati?
