Terminator: Genisys TV Spot

Terminator: Genisys

Did we need Terminator: Genisys? Did we need a new and old Terminator (at the same time) which, as it appears from the trailer and this TV spot, will completely trash the already unstable timeline? We ask these because, by the looks of it, time hasn't been generous at all with this franchise - we need to say just one thing: maybe Terminator: Genisys should have been called Terminator: Geriatrics, since it has forgot how to even spell right.

We are being mean, of course, but based on what we have seen - and we are talking about the CGI, which doesn't seem at all completed. But then again, there is enough time until the 1st of July to finish all the post-production properly.

These being said, check it out below!

We surely are all fans of the first two installments, which literally kicked butt (story wise and from the perspective of the special effects). And we should have taken James Cameron's departure a sign - the franchise has been slowly, but definitely, become less and less attractive with Rise of the Machines and Salvation.

But hey, maybe the Governor's return is a good thing. And maybe we are being biased solely on the premises that the last two installments didn't do justice to the universe created in 1984.

A villain

Speaking of the poorly made CGI, at mark 0:11 we see a new Terminator emerging. And, as the Terminator: Genisys clip reveals, this is the new threat - what we ask is this: is that Matt Smith? Because the structure of the face sure makes us believe that"¦

In fact, this is what is new at this first Terminator: Genisys TV spot - a better look at the villain. Also, to be noted, there is also something new, a shot with a bus doing flip or something. dark Knight much? Did the Terminator franchise really run out of steam?

We'll just wait and see.
