Does Marvel’s Ironheart Season 1 Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Ironheart - Marvel Studios

After literally years of waiting, Marvel’s Ironheart has arrived. Marvel Studios and Disney decided to split the series up into two chunks on Disney+, breaking up the release a bit. Not quite weekly like WandaVision or Loki, but not quite a binge dump like Netflix. Either way, Riri Williams first solo adventure in the MCU after her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now streaming in its entirety. So, does that debut include a post-credits scene?

Without getting into spoilers of any kind the answer is yes. As is often customary in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ironheart season 1 does feature a credits scene. There is much to be said about it and it opens up a lot of discussion. But again, for now, this is just to let viewers know that they should stick around after the credits.

Here is the synopsis for Ironheart.

“Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Television’s Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos).”

Back in 2018, it was revealed that a script for an Ironheart movie had been written. Once Disney+ launched in 2019 and the streaming wars began heating up, things changed. Projects that were once destined for the big screen became streaming series produced by Marvel Studios. Some of those have worked out quite well. Others? Maybe not so much.

Dominique Throne has been waiting a long time for her solo debut as the character. Filming on this show largely took place in 2022 after being announced at San Diego Comic-Con. However, it was delayed several times along the way. Much of that had to do with Marvel and Disney shifting strategies, wanting to take a “quality over quantity” approach after some recent misfires.

“We’re slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three,” Disney CEO Bob Iger previously said in May of last year. “We’re working hard on what that path is.”

The cast for the series also includes Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige executive produces the show alongside Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler.

Ironheart is streaming now on Disney+.
