Earlier this week, we shared a new poster for Marvel's Inhumans that revealed that the series’ first two episodes will debut on IMAX screens on September 1, 2017, and the series will premiere on ABC on September 29. And now we have the show’s first official trailer, which runs for around two minutes.
The first teaser, which was released in May, was basically an animated treatment of the Inhumans series' logo. It was accompanied by a brief, but invigorating, conversation between Iwan Rheon's Maximus the Mad and a mysterious female character.
The first trailer features loads of footage, but it doesn't seem to have stirred up a great deal of anticipation. Maximus and Lockjaw are the only characters that really appear to be interesting. Others, including Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Medusa (Serinda Swan), Gorgon (Eme Ikwuakor), Karnak (Ken Leung), and Crystal (Isabelle Cornish), weren’t overly compelling. Here's the trailer for you!
Of course, it’s unfair to judge an entire series based on a single trailer. Maybe we'll have a change of heart about the Inhumans after additional promotional videos surface. For now, check out the updated synopsis:
Marvel's Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family, including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii, where they are greeted with surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them. Now they must find a way to reunite with each other and return to their home before their way of life is destroyed forever.
