IRON FIST – More Villains Than Any Other Marvel-Netflix Show!

Marvel's Iron Fist will have more villains than any other Marvel-Netflix show!

Last night we got our first teaser trailer for Marvel's Iron Fist. It does what a good teaser trailer does - it reveals virtually nothing, but definitely triggers our anticipation for the show. And in a recent interview with IGN (via Comic Book Movie), Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada tries to play a role very similar to the teaser trailer!

He doesn't give away any major details on Iron Fist, but he does offer a tidbit that should generate a great deal of speculation. According to Quesada, Finn Jones' Danny Rand will have to deal with more foes in the first season than Daredevil, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage! Here's what he says:

I would also say that Iron Fist has more villains, in our first season, than any of our other shows. There’s a lot going on.

We know that Danny will definitely encounter the Meachum family - David Wenham's Harold Meachum and his children Joy and Ward (portrayed by Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey) - in Iron Fist Season 1. Those three characters are series regulars.

But who else will he face? Will we get to see Steel Serpent? We do remember having a glimpse of the iconic Iron Fist supervillain's symbol in the first season of Daredevil.

The Marvel CCO claims that the cast of Iron Fist is "amazing" and the show will be "completely different" from the standalone series of the other three members of The Defenders. He adds:

That’s really our goal. We’re trying to offer four shows that live in the same universe but offer fans a completely different look. Martial arts will play a huge part in Iron Fist.

Joe Quesada also praises the showrunner, Scott Buck, and his writing team for creating "a fantastic story". According to him, they have "woven…some great legends from Marvel past and present" into the story.

Quesada doesn't give away any further details, claiming that they are "still in production", and not in a place where they would begin promoting Iron Fist. However, he does believe that we, the fans, "are going to dig it"!
