Iron Fist, the last of the Defenders, is also the least grounded, given the supernatural origins of his powers (we can think of another character with powers that have supernatural origins, who should be adapted). And, until now, we knew little to nothing about this fourth original series.
But now, thanks to That Hashtag Show, we have learned the name of the actor who will possibly bring Daniel Rand to life. According to the website, none other than Finn Jones, the second British actor to appear in Marvel's Netflix series (after Charlie Cox, who portrays Daredevil), has been cast in the role of Iron Fist.
And this move falls in line with all of the previous ones, since Finn Jones is not necessarily a well-known actor. Besides his role as Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones, he hasn't appeared in too many notable movies or series. And this also means that If Daredevil relied on the star power of Vincent D'Onofrio, and Jessica Jones made the best out of David Tennant, can we expect a more well-known actor to portray the Iron Fist villain?
It certainly looks like it.
It appears also that Finn was cast quite a while ago, since Mike Coulter (Luke Cage) revealed in January that an actor had been found for the next Netflix series. But, for the moment, neither Marvel nor Netflix has issued an official statement. So, at this moment, this can be considered just a rumor (even if many websites, including CBM, Screen Rant, Comic Book Resources, EW, and others, have announced the actor as possibly cast).
