Last month, we came across a rumor suggesting that Marvel Studios is developing new Netflix series for three characters. One of them is the supernatural antihero Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider. Even though this rumor is yet to be confirmed, we, the fans, have already begun to speculate about the perfect candidate for the role.
We recently came up with a list of actors who would make a great Ghost Rider. One of them is the actor who portrays the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus.
As Daryl in the AMC series, Norman has shown off his skills with a chain. He looks cool on a motorcycle, too!
Maybe that’s why Uproxx asks him in a recent interview if he would be willing to play Ghost Rider for Marvel. His response? Well, first, Reedus reveals that he liked Nicholas Cage's incarnation of the character in the big screen ventures. Here's what he adds:
Hell yeah. It would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that's on fire and all that stuff? Fuck yeah. I'm down.
At this point, Norman as Ghost Rider is nothing more than a hypothetical possibility. First, the rumor has to become fact. If that doesn’t happen, we’re all doing nothing but wasting our time!
Time is a factor, as well. Marvel already has a number of Netflix series lined up for release. Luke Cage is the very next one to arrive followed by Iron Fist, The Defenders, Jessica Jones Season 2, and The Punisher.
So, even if a Ghost Rider series is actually in the works, it is unlikely to arrive in the next two years or so. Will Norman Reedus still be a good fit for the job then? He is 47 years old now. Cage was around 42 when he played the character for the first time.
