Is Ghost Rider Coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4?

Is Ghost Rider set to arrive in the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season

For a while now, we've been hearing rumors about Marvel Television developing Netflix series for Ghost RiderMoon Knight, and Blade. The big baddie for Marvel's The Defenders, the rumors say, is someone whose arrival would open up endless possibilities for these anti-heroes to arrive.

But now, it appears that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 could be the show that introduces at least Ghost Rider, if not all three characters. It appears this way because of a photo that the ABC series' official Twitter account has shared!

The photo features an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.-themed train for San Diego Comic-Con International which bears a flaming chain in its design! And it is accompanied by the following text:

Get fired up! Marvel’s #AgentsofSHIELD knows how to get to you to #SDCC in style.

With Ghost Rider rumored to arrive with his own standalone series, this photo has fired up a lot of fans, who think that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might be the show that introduces the character beforehand. Is this indeed the case?

First of all, we mustn't forget that a fiery chain doesn't necessarily tease Ghost Rider. We saw James, aka Hellfire, wield a flaming chain in the show's third season. The character was portrayed by Aussie actor Axle Whitehead.

If this photo relates to the Inhuman, it definitely hints at the character getting a much larger role in the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season. He had a secondary role last season.

But again, in the comics, Hellfire has ties to Ghost Rider. He is the grandson of Carter Slade, the original Ghost Rider. If Marvel intends to introduce the character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, they will unlikely uphold the relationship between the two characters.

And if Marvel does introduce Ghost Rider in the ABC series, it will definitely strengthen the connections between its television properties. It will at least be a consolation to stars like Chloe Bennet, who thinks that Marvel doesn't care about its television shows.
