Knowing the impact the first Daredevil season had on Marvel fans, it’s safe to assume that the first trailer for the second season got everybody pumped up - we finally met the (apparent) main antagonist (the Punisher), and were given a hint of a more shadowy villain (teased by the appearance of Elektra).
Now we have something else - the character artwork for (almost) all of the main characters: Daredevil himself, Punisher, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page. Basically, there’s a short (16-second) clip for each of the aforementioned characters. So let us begin - with, obviously, the Daredevil:
Yes, it is the same epic scene in which the Punisher and the Man without Fear trade blows. We already know that it doesn't end too well for the latter, and we cannot wait to see how he will escape.
Next is Karen Page who, by the looks of it, is trying to find out what the connection is between Matt Murdock and Frank Castle. It is rumored that she will have a much more consistent role this season.
Coming up next is Foggy Nelson – the same one who can’t handle his friend's secret identity. By the looks of it, we can figure out who frees Matt from his chains"¦
Lastly, the Punisher - the anti-hero, with whom so many of us can empathize. There isn't much to say about his character artwork, except for the fact that he broke Daredevil (actually, we don't really like this clip, since it resembles an iconic scene from another superhero's history).
What we can add about him is that he won't have his own solo series, as was rumored previously. Marvel Television’s Executive Vice President, Jeph Loeb, talked about this and expressed his hopes that all of the characters will be loved by the fans. However, when talking about a Punisher spin-off, he said, “I think that’s something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that’s actually happening.” Well, that’s pretty clear.
We'll binge-watch the second season of Daredevil as soon as it is released on March 18!
