When was the last time you heard anything official about Marvel's AKA Jessica Jones? Surely not within a month or so! We know who is playing Jessica Jones and also got confirmed who are playing Luke Cage, the Purple Man, the Hell Cat and some other characters. But since then, we haven't got anything official about the upcoming Netflix series.
You may have seen a number of photos from the set, but to be honest, they hardly revealed anything. It seems like the drought is over! Thanks to an Amazon Listing for AKA Jessica Jones's companion book, we finally have a detailed official synopsis for the series!
Even though the book won't be available until November - a month before the Netflix series launches - the synopsis posted under its description part is something worth reading for now.
Official Synopsis of AKA Jessica Jones
Here's the official synopsis of the upcoming Netflix series for you!
“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.”
What Does The Synopsis Reveal?
Does the updated official synopsis reveal anything new plot wise? No, nothing at all! But it indeed helps us in a better understanding of Krysten Ritter's titular character. It's like a pretty handsome bio of Jessica Jones. What Netflix has posted earlier is far more concise - that's understandable as every Netflix series by far, including Marvel's Daredevil, has had one or two sentence long synopsis.
But the only question that stands - will AKA Jessica Jones be able to retain the glory attained by Marvel's Daredevil? What do you guys think?
