Last month, we came across a bunch of photos from the set of The Flash Season 3 that featured Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Wally West, in a Kid Flash costume. We also spotted The Vampire Dairies and Spartacus: War of the Damned star Todd Lasance clad in the costume of a dark speedster.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that one of the two main antagonists of The Flash Season 3 is Savitar – a speedster who, according to executive producer Todd Helbing, is "all about speed", but very different from the big baddies of the last two seasons – Reverse-Flash and Zoom.
That was enough for many of us to assume that Lasance is portraying Savitar in the CW series' upcoming season. However, that isn't true! Producer Greg Berlanti took to Twitter to refute such speculation. He claims that they have yet to sign an actor for the role of Savitar in The Flash Season 3. Check out his tweet below!

So if they haven't cast Savitar yet, who is the speedster that Todd Lasance is portraying? We have an answer to that question! According to TV Line, the Aussie actor will be seen in The Flash Season 3 playing the recurring character known as The Rival.
In DC Comics, Edward Clariss, aka The Rival, is a Golden Age speedster who served as the archrival of Jay Garrick. Interestingly, Lasance's character was also a member of the Injustice Society - the main antagonists of Justice Society of America.
With the JSA set to appear in the upcoming season of Legends of Tomorrow, it doesn't seem illogical to speculate about The Rival serving as another connection between the two shows.
