The Flash might not be the prime DC superhero. But he's definitely one who kicks the romance up a notch. And it's not because he's the fastest man alive. Barry Allen is not even the iconic lady-killer. And yet, his list of romantic maybes grows thicker by the episode.
Let's consider the latest developments we got word of from none other than Andrew Kreisberg, The Flash executive producer. Iris West (Candice Patton) was recently the witness of a declaration of love. But The Flash is willy-nilly - in truth, mostly willingly - caught in other romantic prospects.
Linda Park gives the eye to The Flash
Andrew Kreisberg is quoted by Entertainment Weekly in respect to the introduction of a new female character and her relation to The Flash. She's none other than Linda Park (played by Malese Jow). Here's Kreisberg's insight:
"We wanted Barry to have a little romance ["¦]. Our iteration of Linda, she's a spark plug. She's a firecracker. She's a lot of fun. She's ballsy and she speaks her mind. She's cool. Barry can't kind of believe that somebody like her is interested in him. Barry suddenly having somebody like that in his life will cause the other women in his life to maybe see a little green."
Linda Park is first introduced to The Flash in episode 12, titled Crazy for You, to be aired today, February 3rd on CW.

Caitlin Snow, jealous of Barry Allen?
This is the official synopsis of episode 12:
"Caitlin decides that she and Barry need to move on from Ronnie (guest star Robbie Amell) and Iris and find new loves so she takes him for a night out at the local karaoke bar. Caitlin doesn't have any luck making a love connection but Barry meets Linda Park (guest star Malese Jow), a sports reporter for the Central City Picture News, and asks her out on a date. When Barry tells Iris he has a date, Iris is surprised by her reaction. Meanwhile, Cisco considers Hartley's (guest star Andy Mientus) dangerous offer and the team searches for Shawna (guest star Britne Oldford), a meta-human with teleportation powers, who just busted her boyfriend Clay (guest star Micah Parker) out of Iron Heights. When Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipps) snoops around in an attempt to help Joe and Barry solve the crime, he ends up in the infirmary after getting roughed up by inmates."
So, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) goes with Barry Allen on a date. As friends, allegedly. Just to see what future holds for each of them in terms of romantic encounters. But Kreisberg's reference to the jealousy of the other women in Barry's life is clear. Iris is not the only one whose feelings are concerned here.
Well, on that note, do you think deepening the romantic life of The Flash is a plus for the TV show? Sure, superheroes are no strangers to love affairs, but don't you think they might overplay Barry Allen's flings? Have your say here!
