The debut season of Legends of Tomorrow on The CW has just ended, laying the groundwork for the second season. The show debuted with a team of superheroes who were working against Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), a bad guy who wanted to destroy the world.
The Season 1 finale revealed that Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) and the Justice Society of America (JSA) will have pivotal parts in the story.
“For comic book fans, everyone knows the Justice Society is really the precursor to the Justice League," executive producer Mark Guggenheim told THR . "It's a pretty big move in our DC universe here on TV."
Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 will introduce a bigger villain
If Season 1 introduced Vandal Savage as the main threat for the Legends, according to Guggenheim, Vandal is nothing compared to Season 2’s villain:
The Season 2 big bad is actually not going to be a [part of the alien race of] Thanagarian. It’s going to be something else entirely. All I’ll really say about the nemesis in Season 2 is Vandal Savage looks like a walk in the park compared to what the Legends will be facing. This will be a much, much bigger threat. I’m going to leave it at that, because when we do reveal it, it’s going to be pretty big. People will be asking, “Vandal who?” once they get the full picture of what our team is up against. It’s going to be way bigger than what you can even imagine, I can guarantee it.
Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 is scheduled to take over the small screen this fall on Thursday nights at 8 pm on The CW.
