The inaugural season of Gotham introduced Cameron Monaghan as Jerome "“ the younger version of The Joker "“ in a few minutes long scene. The young actor has been highly appreciated by the fans and critics for his outstanding performance in the tiny scene. Since then, everyone was anticipating when will be the next time the character appears in the Fox series.

It didn't take much of a time to get a confirmation from Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller that Monaghan will reappear in the second season where they would explore his character's transformation into The Joker.
