Batman vs. Robin: First Trailer

Batman vs. Robin

The first trailer for Batman vs. Robin has just been revealed - you haven't heard of this one yet? Well, this is the sequel to last year's Son of Batman, an animated feature which wasn't a success just like it wasn't a failure. A so and so story will be continued this way this year - as if DC has decided to release any kind of Batman animated feature, as long as it has Batman in the title.

Sure thing, Batman vs. Robin will feature the Court of Owls, this doesn't mean that this animated feature will be based on the Court of Owls storyline.

Instead, it appears that these villains will actually provide the setting, since Bats will fight a more threatening enemy, which is… parenthood?!?

Batman vs. Robin

A first impression, keeping also in mind the Son of Batman feature, is that Batman vs. Robin actually asks too much of us. Sure thing, the entire animated universe was rebooted with Justice League: War and sure thing, the animated movies now follow the New 52.

And we can accept that Damian, the son of Batman, is a kick-ass kid trained by the League of Assassins. And of course we can accept that he excels as being a ninja when facing other opponents. However, and as we see in this trailer, it seems pretty hard to believe that even the son of Batman could catch the Dark Knight himself on the wrong footing…

Nonetheless"¦

and as said in the case of Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin has all the chances of hitting the mark as far as the numbers are concerned.

Batman vs. Robin is the second animated film to be released by DC this year, after Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (check out the trailer in here) and will be followed by a title which sounds a lot more interesting, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
