Warcraft (June 10)

This if the first (and probably the biggest) movie of 2016 based on a video game to be found on this list. The fans of the Warcraft games have been waiting for a long time for this one – and now they finally have it. Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) directs, while the cast seems to be top notch (Toby Kebbell, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, and Dominic Cooper, to name a few). But is this such a good idea?

A first trailer was already released and it didn’t impress too much – mainly because of all the CGI being used. But what were the fans expecting, when it will all be about humans fighting orcs?

Considering the amount of talent involved, we do expect for this to be better than most of the movies based on games which were released thus far. And, quite frankly, the whole idea of witnessing a total war gets us excited.

Check out the trailer below, after the short synopsis: The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
