The Superhero Movies of 2015

Marvel superhero

Without a doubt, the most popular genre of nowadays is the superhero one - no, we aren't talking about the whole comic book movie genre (which could also include, for example 300: Rise of an Empire or Sin City: A Dame To Kill For), but about the particular movies centered around super-humans, meta-humans, mutants or whatever you may want to call them.

For example, this year we have seen the release of no less than 4 superhero movies (5 if we included Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). And it is expected that this number will increase once Warner Bros and DC begin releasing their own flicks.

But 2015 will be, in comparison to what we saw until now, a pretty slow year, since only 3 superhero films will be released. Check them out below!

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron

The first one to be released will be the sequel to the Avengers behemoth, titled Avengers: Age of Ultron. All the superheroes will come back to save the world once again, while new additions will also be presented - of course, we are talking about Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Vision.

If you haven't seen the first trailer yet, then check it out in here (we simply cannot believe you haven’t seen it yet) - and notice that the tone is much darker. Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives on the 1st of May 2015 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, and James Spader.

2. Ant-Man

It took Edgar Wright 10 years to come up with the concept for the miniature superhero movie - and the teaser he made charmed the Marvel bosses. However, his whole idea didn't work for the studio, so he was replaced by Peyton Reed - and now Marvel believes that the heist-movie called Ant-Man will be its bets film!
For now, little is known about it, even if the movie will be released on the 17th of July next year, so a little more than 6 months. Nonetheless, the cast is a stellar one and we have the utmost confidence that Marvel will deliver once again: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington, T.I., Martin Donovan, and John Slattery.

The Ant-Man trailer can be seen in here too!

3. The Fantastic Four

This must be the most troubled superhero movie of the recent years - and mainly because of the cast director Josh Trank has chosen, with Michael B. Jordan set to be Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch.

If we don't know anything in particular about Ant-Man, then we can say that we know less about the Fantastic Four reboot - it isn't even certain that this will be the final title of the film. Nonetheless, if this superhero movie proves to be successful, Fox has the unique opportunity of making a crossover the fans have talked for so long: a unique superhero film with both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

The Fantastic Four will be released on the 7th of August and stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Tobey Kebbell, and Tim Blake Nelson.

As far as we are concerned, the trailer (which can be seen in here too) looks awesomely good, even if we barely see any superpowers displayed!
