While fans may have come to terms with the casting of Jared Leto as the new Joker for the upcoming Suicide Squad (and we don't believe it will be just that), there are still many who believe that the DCEU is too dark. And we're not talking just about the color schemes. Of course, while this may be blamed on the comparison with the light MCU, these fans may be right - the DC Expanded Universe seems too bleak for it to actually work.
But, while I can agree on that, here is an interesting thing: by being dark, DCEU does have the chance to present events like we didn't and won't see in the MCU. And some of these events include the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime! So what dark moments with the Joker do we want to see? Well, check it out!
Also, to be noted, remember when Joker killed Gambol in Nolan's The Dark Knight? It didn't explicitly show it, but we knew it was there. About that type of darkness I am talking about"¦
Joker beating Jason Todd with a crowbar
This is a bad way to go - and, as the Joker said, it won't hurt us as much as it hurt Robin (after all, it was the fans who decided that Jason Todd needs to die). So, in A Death in the Family, the sidekick is tricked by the villain and then beaten to a pulp with a crowbar.
As said, a bad way to die - of course, in the comics, there was a witness, none other than Todd's mother. And this makes it even more twisted than otherwise. How does it all end? With the two left in a warehouse, with a bomb waiting to explode.
Will we see this? It is almost certain - although some details will be changed. For one, it won't be Jason Todd dying, but it is Dick Grayson. Then, it won't be a warehouse, but the Arkham Asylum. And the reluctant witness isn't Jason's mother, but good doctor Harleen Quinzel. Where do we know that this happens?

The Tunnel of Love
This sounds interesting, right? Joker in the Tunnel of Love - what can go wrong? Well, everything!
In Batman: The Killing Joke, Joker wants to show the Dark Knight that one bad day can drive insane any person. So what does he do? He breaks into James Gordon's house and shoots his daughter Barbara. Where's the Tunnel of Love?
Coming right up! James Gordon himself is kidnapped and sent on to a ride in the tunnel of love. Strapped like a dog, he is forced throughout the ride to watch nude pictures of his daughter, all bloody after being shot. Creepy and twisted? Yes, of course. Then Batman comes to the rescue.
So how can it all go down in the dark DCEU? We believe it already did and we are expecting some sort of flashback. As Bruce Wayne said, how many good people are still alive? In the DCEU, James Gordon is already dead - and the rumors are that Jena Malone will portray Barbara Gordon as Oracle. So we do expect a flashback about this Tunnel of Love event, although one that doesn't end so well for the good Commissioner.
Of course, don't expect for anything too explicit or anything that could bring on an R-rating.
The Death of Sarah Essen Gordon
Of course, as far as tormenting his enemies, the Joker is known to bring his worst when confronting the Batman. However, James Gordon has also suffered a lot at the hands of the Clown Prince of Crime.
During the No Man's Land storyline, when Gotham was in ruins after being hit by an earthquake, Joker intended to kidnap and kill all the toddlers of Gotham in order to, well, maintain the chaos for a bit longer. While in the same storyline he did his fair share of evil deeds, none seems more horrific than the time he shot Sarah Essen Gordon in the head.
So how did he do it? He distracts her attention by throwing a baby at her - and, as she attempted to catch the baby, he shot her.
So James Gordon is dead in the DCEU. There is a rumor of Batman having an Oracle. What if we have another flashback with this death? Or what if the Tunnel of Love torture is all about Sarah instead of Barbara? It can all play out just the same!
It's all just a play
Just like Batman, Joker is all about theatricality. And what happens after an act is over? You take off you mask. Or, as some might say, you take it off before the act begins and put it back on towards the very end.
Who did that? Well, it was the Joker, who simply had his face removed and nailed on his cell in Arkham. Seeing how damaged the Jared Leto version of the character is, we might see this happening. When and how? I have no clue - and, from all the things from this list, this event is the least likely to happen. But it was worth mentioning it.
The Dark Knight Returns - the fitting end for the Joker
This has to be done - we've seen it already in the animation, but we want to see it on the silver screens too. And if Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is indeed based mostly on The Dark Knight Returns, who is to say that in a future Batman flick the Joker won't die this way?
After posoning some kids and coming to blows with the Dark Knight, the villain found the best way of defeating the hero: by killing himself. Of course, the Joker cannot win in a fistfight against the Batman - so, with his last breaths, he snapped his own neck. Where is the victory in that? Now everybody believes that Batman is a killer.
So which of these dark Joker moments could and should make it on the silver screens? Did we forget any?
