Interview with the Civil War writers

Who should be the first ones to reveal the implications of the Civil War, other than those who actually adapted the story? Markus and Stephen McFeely sat down and explained what the fans can expect from the movie. First and foremost, the writers said that the entire story will be Earth-based, so there will be no mention of the bigger events playing out in the MCU's background.

What we can understand from this is that some rumors may not be true, at all. One of those rumors concerns the Hulk, who was supposed to have at least a cameo in the film. The rumor said that we would see how the Green Goliath is sent into space to start his Thor: Ragnarok journey. We guess we can call it debunked now.

The writers also said that choosing Team Cap won't be so easy for the fans, because the character has changed since he first appeared, when he was the embodiment of morality and courage. What we can understand is that his motives won't be as easy to empathize with as previously thought. And seeing that he sides with a renowned assassin"¦

And that’s another reminder from the writers that the Civil War will engulf the entire world. Furthermore, they’ve also indicated that Black Panther is, from a certain point of view, better than both Captain America and Iron Man, since he sees the big picture and is not guided by subjective reasoning.

Speaking of which, the writers also said that Iron Man will have a very personal reason for choosing a different side of the barricades. And, unlike what we previously believed (that the Winter Soldier killed his father), the reason will be shown very early in the film.
