7. Grant Gustin: The Flash

The idea of bringing the scarlet speedster to life on the small screen is not a new one. Back in 1990, DC comics tried to use the special effects available to make John Wesley Shipp look like the fastest man on Earth. The acting was good, the story was passable, but the effects were terrible. They were so terrible in fact, that they simply could not be overcome.

The new incarnation of The Flash is played by Grant Gustin, who just might be the perfect guy for this role. He is sensitive and caring when the situation dictates. He is a reluctant hero, who doesn’t embrace using his powers in anger. He is carefree and playful, but can be deadly serious and dedicated.

The comic book of The Flash is cut from the same cloth. This portrayal is as spot-on as any other in this list, but since he is only in his second season, we will leave him here at number 7.
