We’ve known since director Taika Waititi was still shooting the Thor franchise’s last installment that Doctor Strange would make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. In the meantime, it’s been rumored that the Sorcerer Supreme will aid the God of Thunder in his efforts to find the Infinity Stones, a quest that Thor took on at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Now, a new international trailer for 2017’s last Marvel Cinematic Universe film has provided us with a glimpse of the movie’s third Avenger, and it’s Doctor Strange. However, while it contradicts some of the rumors, it’s safe to say that Benedict Cumberbatch's role will most likely be a simple cameo.

Pics from the set revealed that Doctor Strange and Thor will meet in New York. During the meeting, it becomes obvious that Strange knows something about the Asgardian’s future. We don't know the extent of Doctor Strange’s knowledge about the events to come, but we’re almost certain that the Eye of Agamotto (the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Time Stone) is the source of his precognitive power.
This latest international trailer recycles quite a bit of footage that we’ve already seen in previous Thor: Ragnarok promotional materials. However, this time around, the focus seems to be on Thor as he forms his own team to defend Asgard against Hela. The team also includes Hulk, Loki, and Valkyrie, who will surely have their work cut out for them as they fight the Goddess of Death and her allies.
So we don’t know yet what dire plans Destiny has in store for Thor. But we’re certain that Thor also has dire plans for Destiny, and that raises the stakes even higher.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, 2017.
