Until now, we’ve only seen Ezra Miller's The Flash making brief cameo appearances. He appeared in both DC Extended Universe installments of this year - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. He will have a much bigger role in next year's Justice League. We have already seen footage featuring the character in the Comic-Con trailer for the November 17, 2017 release.
But we will have to wait until 2018 to see the Scarlet Speedster in a main role, as his standalone movie is coming that year. The Flash movie was initially scheduled for release on March 16, 2018, but that date has been given away to one of Warner Brothers' other projects, the Tomb Raider reboot.
However, it now appears that the studio won't delay The Flash movie's release for too long. Why? Because a new report by On Location Vacations suggests that the Rick Famuyiwa venture will kick off its production in January 2017. According to the site, The Flash movie's filming will take place in London.
This isn't, of course, the first DCEU installment to shoot outside North America. Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman filmed in various locations in European countries like England, Italy, and France. The other release for 2017, Zack Snyder's Justice League, has been shooting in London, Scotland, and Iceland.
Dope star Kiersey Clemons is already on board, along with Ezra Miller, who plays the titular superhero, and director Rick Famuyiwa. Clemons will be portraying Barry Allan's love-interest, Iris West.
If The Flash movie starts filming next January, we can expect to see a lot of names being added to its cast roster in the coming months. We did hear a rumor earlier that the studio is looking for actors to portray characters like Eobard Thawne, Fred Chyre, Len Snart and Jay Garrick.
