It may seem that DC comics has the upper hand, as far as TV shows are concerned - Supergirl is the latest CBS production to grace us with a first trailer, for a scheduled release date sometimes in the Fall of this year.
Sure enough, this was the most surprising announcement, since she is indeed a powerhouse in the DC universe and bringing major villains to the small screens will always encounter some impediments. Check out the trailer below!

Don't expect the same bleakness as in any other DC adaptations:

Sure enough, placing a super-powered woman (or girl) at the center of a series is very refreshing - but Supergirl is not just about that. Apparently, all the footage from this trailer comes from the pilot of Supergirl. And, as you can see, outside of the comedic moments, this will be an action-packed episode, which will feature even the introduction of superpowered villains.
Furthermore, some well-known baddies from the comics are also said to appear in this episode, with Toyman already listed as an actor of the pilot. So, in a way, Supergirl is up for a great start. But will this be enough to keep the show going after the first season?
Reactions
All is good until now, with the first Supergirl trailer meeting the approval of the fans. Even the scene in which she asks for approval into helping the humans is met with good eyes, even if her cousin wouldn't actually do that.
But then again this isn't the show of the Man of Steel, but the one of Supergirl. And even if she is a Kryptonian, this doesn't mean at all that she is supposed to be as badass as, say, Faora-Ul. After all, the show will introduce this character living for a lifetime on Earth, without exhibiting her powers at all and, maybe, being used to being a lap-dog.
Sure enough, from this trailer alone, Supergirl shames any Marvel adaptation and makes it look actually bleak and serious.
