Suicide Squad Reshoots

Suicide Squad - it's going to be fun

The Suicide Squad is the second Warner Bros/DC movie of the year, following the even more anticipated release of Batman v Superman. How will a movie focused on a team of villains perform at the box office, when the prequel to the Justice League almost disappointed (from a critical point of view)?

This seems to be the most important question of the moment. And, apparently, Warner Bros is reconsidering the tone of its movies, with Zack Snyder saying that the first Justice League film will be lighter, James Wan saying that Aquaman will be fun, and so on. And, apparently, Suicide Squad is also getting a quick make-up before the release.

Thus, according to Birth. Movies. Death, Warner Bros is quickly setting up some reshoots for Suicide Squad. According to the website, these reshoots will actually be very expensive and will happen because the tone of the movie doesn't match the tone of the second trailer (the awesome trailer with Bohemian Rhapsody playing in the soundtrack).

If you don't remember what happened in that trailer (you cannot not remember, we believe), it was cut with to make it as fun and funny as possible. And that was, according to the website, false advertising, since all the jokes of the film were squeezed those 150 seconds. But is there any truth to this statement?

At this point, this is just a rumor and it will remain so - at least until the movie is released. But we do believe that Warner Bros isn't making such a huge mistake of changing a movie in such a big way (reportedly, the studio is spending tens of millions of dollars for these reshoots) well after the shooting has finished.

Furthermore, we guess the studio knew what it was going to receive when hiring David Ayer to direct a movie about villains.

Batman v Superman dropped 81% in ticket sales from one weekend to another. And that was not necessarily because the flick was that bad, as Rotten Tomatoes says - instead, we believe this happened because of the high anticipations built during 3 years of marketing campaign.

Suicide Squad is not Batman v Superman - so maybe these reshoots aren't going to ruin it by making it lighter.
